As of a few months ago, the SteelDrivers had a pretty good supply at their merch table. Unfortunately, that means that you have to wait until they are in concert near you.

Arlene and Jon, unfortunately, there is no inventory left at the Station Inn of their self-released album. I was actually hoping to pick one up myself and they told me they’ve been out for some time.

Only thing I can think of there is to see if they’ve got any left at the record table, or come down to the Station Inn – there may be one or two on the shelves there ;-).

Buying used CDs, records, etc. is not illegal. The ethics of such buying are a little murkier, since – as you note – the artists don’t make anything, and neither do the songwriters. On the other hand, with out of print stuff there’s no alternative that *does* make them money…

Speaking of The Steeldrivers’ self-released live album, other than checking e-bay, any thoughts on how I could find a copy?

Also, I’m always a little hesitant to buy “used” CDs, records, etc., because the artists dont’ receive royalties but especially when a recording is out of print, I will purchase a “used” one. Any thoughts on the ethics of burying “used” CDs, records, etc.?

And, Ken, it’s BreNt, dadgummit; you’ve misspelled his name twice.

Also note that the SteelDrivers did *not* launch with their first Rounder album; they self-released a live album before that.

I hear Hollywood is interested in making a sitcom about what’s happened with The Steeldrivers! The working title is “Tammy In Charge”! (lol)

Tammy is obviously the glue that has held the various incarnations of the Sreeldrivers together and will continue to do so for as long as she chooses. Dark songs may be their trademark, but with their new, improved band they should have the freedom to branch out a bit. I’ve been waiting for a female perspective answer song to “Drink That Mash and Talk That Trash”! (lol)
