I don’t know, but Kix and Ronnier are starting to sound like Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwartzenegger–(I saw in the paper last week that Maria and Arnold were seen having lunch together at an L.A. restaurant.)

Given that they are pressing 500 copies! of this single, it would appear that they are aiming it at that narrow minority of US citizens–or Legal Permanent Residents–who own multispeed turntables (or who simply want to own it)–and that they’re not all that concerned with what the vast majority are thinking.

I just received my copy of Chuck Mead’s “Back at the Quonset Hut” and Chuck’s vocals are just a bit too laid back and apathetic these days for my tastes. The production is also a bit thin, but that’s typical with most low budget indie recordings these days. Chuck really needs to stop taking that “I’m a tired, worn out singer” persona so seriously, and especially on weepers like “Apartment # 9″. On the other hand my pick of the litter is the duet with Jamey Johnson on “You Better Treat Your Man Right”. That track is definitely worth a buck for a legal download and highly recommended! Ricks’s Rating: 4 Stars (3.5 for the actual album, .5 brownie point for the nature of the project itself.)

Its nice to see Katie Armiger has hooked up with a talented songwriter like Mac McAnally. Hopefully it will give her career a bit of real momentum, something its always lacked. Katie and her label must be growing weary of always being the bridessmaid at country radio. At least “Scream” made it to # 48 on the Mediabase singles chart.

Gosh, Ralph Stanley’s album is being released as a 78 rpm vinyl record? Wow, that not only makes it unique, it also makes it unplayable to the vast majority of US citizens even including those with a turntable! That’s just crazy talk.

Kudos to CMT for posting those Sierra Hull videos! Somehow I don’t think that Alison Bonaguro is the driving force here.

Ken, you really should put a 1 to 5 star rating next to each of those new music videos so I know which ones to home in on! Remember, really pretty women in skimpy outfits earn an automatic 5 star rating! (lol)
