She’s coming to the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday night and I plan on catching the show. I’ve been to a few Kasey gigs but have never spoken with her as I’d rather corner Daddy Bill and chat with him instead.

Thanks to Aussie music exchange pals I met on Kasey’s fan forum back in the early 2000′s, I have almost all the B-sides of her earlier (pre- Carnival) Aussie singles. It’s nice to see many of those songs now made available in the U.S. via “Storybook”. That’s interesting that Kasey re-recorded “I Wish It Would Rain” as the Dead Ringer Band did a fine version back in the 1990′s.

A Canadian music exchange buddy of mine goes to the Tamworth Festival down under each January and in 2010 came back raving about a young gal named Ashleigh Dallas who was part of a family band at the time. It seems Bill and Kasey have also recognized this gal’s potential. I look forward to hearing the album Kasey produces for her!
