Actually mine is pretty recent recent - I was at my local VFW when an 85 year old gentleman next to me casually mentioned how he trained as a Carlson Raider in the Marines during WWII. And then he brought up the time he was clearing caves during the battle of Iwo Jima. And then, since he is from Mitchell South Dakota and I grew up a few hours east only 60 years later, we bonded over shared stories of driving around in the country at night while shining and hunting raccoons.

Count me in as the sample song is quite catchy.

The most memorable person I've ever met in a bar eh? Well since I'm not a drinker I'll have to go with an artist I talked to after a show in a bar. I'll choose Amanda Shires just because she was so darn sweet. She had sold all her CD's prior to her show in LA so I paid her the money and she wrote my name an address on a piece of paper and mailed it to me a couple of weeks later. I really wasn't expecting she'd remember, but I was glad she did.

So glad you are featuring this wonderful collection -- it's unique and really well done, a rare combination. I have played this album at least a dozen times, and it doesn't get old. Heck, it's not often "The Canterbury Tales" and "country music" share the same sentence, either! You can hear all the cuts at Mike's website: www.TheRoadhouseRambler.com (Full disclosure: Mike and many of The Regulars are good friends of mine, and I am a big fan and booster of the CD.)
