(A)–Why the hell SHOULD she answer your question?; (B) Your initial question was too sarcastic or cryptic to even answer; and (C) Just to deflect your abuse, I’ll answer it on behalf of Chickette–and she can tell us whether I’m right or wrong:

Chickette likes COUNTRY music. The Lionel Richie album is being marketed and promoted as a COUNTRY album. She eagerly listened to the album–or cuts from it–anticipating hearing some COUNTRY music. Her expectations were thwarted when what came out of her speakers turned out not to be what she considers country music. So she typed the fateful sentence “Too bad it’s not country.”

If “inspired” means anything at all, not very much of it is very often, which is to say, far as I can see, lots of pretty good music that people enjoy but that you couldn’t call t “inspired” gets made by professionals (even playing the same song for the 4537th time) all the time. Now dance.

As for me, I didn’t say that it wasn’t good, I said that it was uninspired. I like to choose what I believe is the best word to use in any particular circumstance. If I wanted to say it wasn’t good, that’s what I’d have said – but I didn’t.
