A good batch of “Pretty Girl Videos” today! (I’m still waiting for an asterisk to denote such videos.) Yay! I didn’t grasp the point of the Eden’s Edge video, but Hannah and Cheryl both look great, so who cares! (lol) I like the jewel thief twist in the Band Perry video, but the guy stalking her with the camera should have been Jean Valjean! And its a shame Tasha’s voice isn’t as nice as her skin, and who did her make-up anyway? That gal needs a little color on that face. She gives new meaning to that old Indian term “pale face”.

It should read “Ray Charles Version of the Don Gibson Song “I Can’t Stop Loving You” Turned 50 Years Old”. Gosh, being like Jon just isn’t that satisfying…

The Fan Fair sell-outs prove that AirHead Country has a large following of folks with mediocre taste in music! Was P.T. Barnum thinking about the typical Fan Fair attendee when he uttered that line about a fool being born every minute? Hmm…

“We have learned from the Halls that some of the initial information available just after a shooting was reported on their property last night was incorrect.

The shooting took place not in the Halls’ guest house, but outside a small cabin occupied by a farm hand. The people involved in this incident were not members of the bluegrass community.

Tom T. [and Miss] Dixie were not aware of the presence of these people on the property.”

Well, whether they were renters, grifters or just guests–and I have to agree with Jon’s method and logic on this one–it does, at least, sound like it should be the inspiration for some new material from Tom T. Hall.

Jon, the article in the link calls them “renters.”

The “article” in the link appeared on what seemss to be, in essence, a blogging website; it was written by a very nice young lady who’s a country and bluegrass music enthusiast up around Lexington, KY. If you follow the link to the Nashville TV station’s website on which it is based – http://www.wsmv.com/story/18751080/shooting-at-a-country-stars-home – you’ll see that there’s nothing about rent or renters therein. Which makes sense; Tom T. and Miss Dixie don’t need to rent anything to anyone.

With all due respect to the lovely and talented editor of Engine 145, Ms. Blankenship’s piece isn’t really the best source for information on this particular bit of news. Re Jewel as June Carter: It reminds me of “I Love Lucy” where Lucy would put on a wig and black out a tooth and you couldn’t figure out why no one recognized her. It looks like Jewel wearing a brunette wig. It doesn’t look like June Carter. Which doesn’t mean Jewel won’t do a good job in the film. It’s just that, in that photo, she doesn’t particularly look any different than she usually does.
