As an updated release spelled out yesterday, Jack was diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks ago, and, quote, "has elected so far to abstain from treatment....In facing his most recent challenge, he is choosing music over medicine." Those who can should be there for this event next Wednesday, as linked above. The money is for musicians with healthcare needs, in keeping with Jack's wishes. The show will be a sort of "Last waltz/Last tango/Last foxtrot" celebration of his life, and he's expected to be there. (lol) I don't have Sirius/XM radio and do very little online music listening apart from the Opry and Music City Roots. Eddie's weeknight evening shows are the lone exception on occasion when I'm in the mood for some top-notch online country radio listening. Go Stubbs! They don't make them like Cowboy Jack any more. It's a good thing he's lived when he has so the rest of us could enjoy the benefits of his various efforts related to the country music realm. I hope someone records and archives this tribute so I can listen online at some point.
