    The Bill and Earl choices could be pretty good, but, am I alone in finding Olivia Wilde as Bessie Lee Maudlin one of the great bits of possibly crowd-pleasing but non sequitur casting ever?…

    I need to write an article called “The Next Person To Call Themselves An Outlaw Gets A Gut Punch!” Three Doors Down? Please.

    I’m not surprised LA would name an intersection after commie boy Woody Guthrie. With a LaRaza re-conquista scumbag like Antonio Villar (his real name) as mayor of Mexico City Del Norte, its just a matter of time until Fidel Castro and Che Guevara get the same honor…

    I think that Olivia Wilde definitely expands the appeal of that Bill Monroe bio-pic to horny guys and House M.D. fans worldwide! I wonder if they considered the current House M.D. eye candy gal Odette Yustman-Annable as an alternative? Hmm… Its too bad that T-Bonehead Burnette is involved in the soundtrack as otherwise it might have been of interest. Oh well…

    It’s greate to see Gretchen Wilson will be touring with ZZ Top so she can earn some decent money again! Her old Chevy 4×4 probably needs some new 44′s and those things aren’t cheap! I don’t even know who “3 Doors Down” are and most likely don’t care regardless.

    Opry Alert! Tonight’s Opry will feature Gene Watson, the Del McCoury Band, the Black Lillies, Sarah Darling, Danny Gokey, and only 3 Opry regulars. Gene Watson alone is enough reason to tune in (for the final half hour segment anyway.)
    Grade: B+
    Schedule: http://www.opry.com/shows/ThisWeek.html

    PS – Caught Miss Willie Brown making a lot of noise on the stage at the Rammer Jammer bar in last night’s new episode of “Hart of Dixie”. Those gals sounded like a failed cross-breeding experiment between The Jane Dear Girls and Blackberry Smoke! Crikey! Thankfully you could only hear them for an extremely short duration.

    “I’m not surprised LA would name an intersection after commie boy Woody Guthrie.”

    I don’t know if you heard the news, Rick, but Woody’s in the Oklahoma Hall-of-Fame, and they’re honoring him in Tulsa. Maybe they want some of the “do-re-mi” that he can still bring in, or maybe they just like him.

    Actually, I think I was almost exactly as specific as necessary.

    This Land Is Your Land
    Words and Music by Woody Guthrie

    This land is your land This land is my land
    From California to the New York island;
    From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
    This land was made for you and Me.

    As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
    I saw above me that endless skyway:
    I saw below me that golden valley:
    This land was made for you and me.

    I’ve roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
    To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
    And all around me a voice was sounding:
    This land was made for you and me.

    When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
    And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
    As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
    This land was made for you and me.

    As I went walking I saw a sign there
    And on the sign it said “No Trespassing.”
    But on the other side it didn’t say nothing,
    That side was made for you and me.

    In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
    By the relief office I seen my people;
    As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
    Is this land made for you and me?

    Nobody living can ever stop me,
    As I go walking that freedom highway;
    Nobody living can ever make me turn back
    This land was made for you and me.
