Interesting list of artists with the most Top-10s. It’s a bit surprising that Waylon and Webb Pierce made it as high as they did, because neither of them had many hits before age 30 (Pierce didn’t have any before 30) and they were both finished, hitwise, by their late 40′s.

I predict that Eddy Arnold’s record of 92 top-tens will stand, even though Strait is only seven hits shy of it. With the slow pace of the chart today, it would take Strait years to issue all those singles, and I think the odds are that country radio will start to freeze out even King George–like it did with Haggard, Jones, Conway, Willie and everyone else.

Ken, its a shame that there aren’t more American female country singers of Korean descent or that imbalance situation might even out a bit! (lol)

I downloaded the American Songwriter freebies and appreciate the fact they are high quality 320 kps MP3′s. None the less I did wind up deleting all of them after a quick listen although the guitar driven track by the Bahamas was almost a keeper. You get what you pay for…

Rick, I know you’re (half) kidding, but the artists all completely volunteer their time without any riders at all. It’s a testament to their generosity that they all come and dedicate a couple days to the youth of Northern California. All of our events have tended to be a little more guy-heavy just based on the fact that more of them are avid golfers and fewer of the females are.

We added a seventeenth artist today- Mr. Chuck Wicks will be participating in his fourth straight Golf & Guitars.

Gosh Ken, that “Golf & Guitars” concert is seriously short of female artists! Jana Kramer didn’t have a rider clause limiting female competition did she? (lol)

Wow, a male country music singer gets arrested for public drunkeness in Texas! I’m guessing this must be the first time this has ever happened…(lol)

I’ve decided that Dex Romweber should join the Alabama Shakes! It would be like a marriage made in, well, Tuscaloosa! (lol)

I really enjoy the American Songwriter downloads! Its fun the delete the files of music downloads I don’t care for, well as long as they are free anyway.

While we are on the subject of Americana music, tomorrow night’s Music City Roots will feature Chatham County Line, Henry Wagons, The Mosier Brothers, Lilly Winwood, Kindling Stone, and Webb Wilder will be guest host. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Chatham County Line in concert and those guys kick some serious bluegrassy butt! (lol)
