Remember when Darryl Worley wrote and released this song two years ago, except he actually wrote it in a semi-coherently and clever manner, and it was still generally an awful song and a commercial flop? And how no one's heard from him since?

Hank is quickly making a caricature of himself. Sad to see given how talented he is, but it's not like you can really feel sorry for the guy. He just kind of comes off as spoiled, angry and unlikable these days.

I've always liked Hank Jr.--even when he's spouting off--because his songs like "A Country Boy Can Survive" or even "If the South Woulda Won" were at least well-crafted and good-natured--or,seemingly so. This latest effort is neither. He just seems bitter, humorless, and a tad incoherent. Why is he blaming "Fox and Friends"? Does he think they should have cut him off before he shot himself in the foot.? And ESPN? The classy thing would be to show gratitude to ABC/ESPN for putting him on for 20-plus years. Did he think it would last forever?

Thanks for the Hank Jr. download link! That song expresses a whole lot of the things I've been thinking about lately. Calling our country the United Socialist States of America under Obama is about as spot on as one can get. Go Hank!

Its too bad Radney Foster isn't doing that Del Rio Texas Revisited concert at Music City Roots. I'd love to see that streamed live, and especially for free! (Such a deal!)

A benefit concert to save a record store huh? Talk about swimming upstream in the current marketplace. I went into my local Wherehouse Records the other day and they used to have an entire aisle dedicated to country music CDs. Now its down to a single rack and the next time I drop by that will probably be gone. Dedicated Music/Video stores are headed for extinction whether we like it or not, although I'm hoping online retailers will still offer CDs for years to come.

OPRY Alert! Tonight's Opry is yet another "special" show with a killer line-up. Artists scheduled to perform include Sara Evans, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Leeann Rimes, Chris Young, Eric Church, Montgomery Gentry, and Scotty McCreery with NO opry legends!!!!!! Grade A++++++!!!!
