I hate to agree with Jon, but I found the article on Americna to be amazing, although I perhaps should say amazingly pointless and meandering. I’d call it a waste of paper, except these are modern times, so I’ll substitute “waste of digital space”

That is, unless someone said something that Shaver took the wrong way or took offense to or interpreted as disrespectful. You definitely wouldn’t want to offend Shaver, because he has a tendency to “pop off.” Especially not in Texas, ’cause if he pops off there, it’s legal.

Yesterday, in honor of Johnny Cash’s birthday, LA’s Album Oriented Classic Rock station FM 100.3 “The Sound” played the first side on vinyl of “Live At Folsom Prison”. I was washing my car in the driveway at the time thinking, man no one makes music like that any more! I just wish they would have spun side 2 as well. Its sad but I’m more likely to hear a vintage Cash song on “the Sound” than LA’s lone Top 40 AirHead Country radio station. Tsk, tsk.

If LeAnn Rimes becomes a judge on “X Factor”, will anyone be able to understand what she is saying? Hmm…

Thanks for the link to the Beccy Cole Aussie video. Morgan Evans is considered sort of a new, younger Keith Urban down under, so he’s one to keep an eye on.

I can’t figure out how I feel about the Carrie Underwood song. I didn’t hate it on first listen, but I’ve found that it’s wormed its way into my head on regular intervals since it was released. It’s nothing really new or groundbreaking and the subject matter is very much “Cowboy Casanova” rehashed. I foresee a very fast burn rate for it, but I also won’t turn off the radio when it comes on – at least not for the first few weeks it’s out. ;)

I was thrilled to hear about that new Mary Chapin Carpenter album. I love her. I will definitely be buying it.

As for the new Carrie Underwood song, I unashamedly love it.

saw Dierks Bentley and Karen Fairchild perform “When You Gonna Come Around” at The Ryman on February 2nd. It was very good. One of many highlights that night.
