Last week's "Music City Roots" show featured some of the songs off of "The 1861 Project" and it was alright I guess. For those of us born and raised on the West Coast the entire Civil War era seems completely abstract, so there is little emotional attachment to the subject matter. Now if the album had instead been "The 1849 Project" and was dedicated to The California Gold Rush, that would be another matter entirely!

The Skaggs album is a sort-of reissue of his Cracker Barrel excusive; three cuts dropped, three new ones added. Great stuff.

I can't get enough of the Suzy Bogguss album. It is nothing short of delightful. I bought it digitally from her website today. I couldn't find it on the Cracker Barrel site as of this morning.

Opry Alert! Tonight's Opry will feature Sunny Sweeney! That's all you really need to know...(lol)
Other featured artists include Dierks Bentley, Ricky Skaggs, Steel Magnolia, Brett Eldredge, Mandy Barnett (butchering Patsy Cline songs), and token Opry Legends John Conlee and Little Jimmie Dickens. Its rare any Opry has this strong of line up. Grade A!
Schedule: http://www.opry.com/shows/ThisWeek.html

Damn, I didn't win the Donna Ulisse CD! On the other hand the end result feels just it did for all the contests I entered at The 9513! Cool! (lol)
