Ronnie Mack's Barn Dance in December featured The Collins Kids performing and I didn't know about it until afterwards! ARGH! (lol) Scheduling the shows on the first Monday night of every month kept me away except for holidays that happened to coincide with the show dates. The venue used for the last few years would pack out quickly and become barely standing room only in the process. I liked the concept but the execution left something to be desired for someone who lived across town when we're talking LA freeway commuting traffic. Still, I'm sorry to see it go away.

That Phil Alvin benefit concert sounds interesting. Both The Blasters and The Knitters bands typically attract a lot of good looking "rockabilly" women fans! I especially like the poodle skirts and tight sweaters! (lol) Now if John Doe would just clean up his potty mouth while he's on stage with X and The Knitters...

Darn, there is no Music City Roots tonight. I am looking forward to next week's show that will feature Leon Russell and Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out. I hope Leon sings songs off his 1973 "Hank Wilson's Back" album! We shall see.
