I have found myself beginning to seriously crave new music from Carrie Underwood lately. Glad to hear things are moving along with the new album!

Really ejoyed Craig Shelburne's "Overlooked Albums" list, which is far more to my taste than most of the stuff he swoons about. Any list that includes Sunny Sweeney, Zoe Muth, the Sweetback Sisters, and Caitlin Rose is all right by me! I recently saw the siren songstress Shannon McNally perform live and she mentioned how she was currently enraptured by the music of Gene Clark. The 1977 album reissued on CD recently that Craig mentions is likely involved somehow! (lol) I'll have to check out the Cactus Blossoms. Sounds like the perfect act for "A Prairie Home Companion"! Are you listening Garrison?

Back when I was a big Allison Moorer fan (prior to the "Duel" album, her liberal awakening, and marriage to Steve Earle), the only time I saw her perform live was with The Chieftains. I had gone to see Allison hoping she'd do an opening set, but that didn't happen. She did sing lead on "Blues For Dixie" which redeemed the whole evening. Can't say I've had any interest in the Chieftains since...
