The Guy Clark tribute has apparently been held up for a few weeks. I got a release today saying it was now set for Dec 6.

I really don't pay attention to news posts about country music awards shows, so in all of the hype for the upcoming CMT Awards show I didn't even notice the fan voted ACA Awards coming in early December. I'm sure they've been mentioned here, probably repeatedly, but I hadn't paid attention.

Website Link: http://www.theacas.com/news.aspx

Although the event website is pretty weak on details, I found this blurb at "AllAboutCountry.com" which makes the show sound worth watching:

"The performers for the The American Country Awards (ACA) have been announced. Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band and The Band Perry are scheduled to perform.

Lauren Alaina, Rachel Bilson, Miranda Lambert and Scotty McCreery will also make appearances.

The ACAs will air on Monday, December 5 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox and voting for all categories begins Friday, November 11. "

Gosh, is Rachel Bilson going to try to sing? Her new "Hart of Dixie" TV show isn't even on the Fox network, its a CW show. Hmmm....

Dierks Bentley sure knows how to ingratiate himself with the Aussie country crowd. Dierks recently recorded a duet song and music video with Lee Kernaghan named "Scars" that has been doing extremely well down under and hit # 1 on the radio airplay charts. Good on ya Dierks.

I'm sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Tom Keith. A Prairie Home Companion will never be the same without him and his zany sound effects. The entire crew must be devastated. On the other hand last Saturday's show featured a Pueblo, Colorado based string/folk band named The Haunted Windchimes that are in the vein of Old Crow Medicine Show (although not as frenetic). Good stuff!

Great, yet another interesting show on RFD-TV I won't be able to watch because Time Warner Cable in Los Angeles doesn't carry the station. They likely can't fit it in due to the ever expanding multitude of foreign language channels they offer. Just pathetic...

OPRY Alert! Tonight's Opry will be redeemed from mediocrity by Eden's Edge, who thankfully will appear early in the broadcast. If you haven't heard this talented group perform live yet, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Other featured artists include Phil Vassar, Rodney Atkins, and Rascal Flatts along with Opry regulars Jeannie Seely, Jimmie Dickens, and Riders In The Sky. Grade: B-
