Julie Roberts Who Needs Mistletoe Giveaway
The Christmas spirit has hit us early here at Engine 145, so we thought we’d share the love by giving two readers a copy of Julie Roberts’ new EP, Who Needs Mistletoe.
Released November 1 on her independent label Aint Skeerd Records, Who Needs Mistletoe finds the soulful-voiced Roberts tackling classics like “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” and “Away in a Manger.” Even the Grinchiest listener would find it difficult to turn off this record.
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below mentioning your favorite Julie Roberts song before Tuesday, November 8, at noon Eastern. Two winners will be chosen at random. Be sure to use a valid email address, because the winners will be announced and notified via email on November 9.

Hmmmmmm… probably “Break Down Here”
November 4, 2011 at 9:46 am
Either “Men & Mascara” or “You Ain’t Downhome” (although Jann Browne’s version of the latter song was better)

Well Michael and Paul, you can have them! (lol) When Julie used to appear on the Opry the first question that came across my mind was “Who needs earplugs?”, and the answer was always me! I’ll definitely take a pass on this give-away even as cheap as I am…

I can’t wait to see the video that goes along with her new song “Who Needs Mistletoe.” I’m willing to be in the video with her. I know it’ll be a sacrifice but I have to do it. What a Christmas present that would be. Her video will probably be a dream and I’m already dreaming.

My favorite song Of Julie’s is Break Down Here because I think everybody has been in that situation and if not tell me who? Julie is a great singer and I hope she gets a Major Record Deal again, cause she is Country to the core!! Funny too!

I love her first album and my favorite song from it is Break Down Here.

Definetly NASCAR Party. It was so refreshing to hear Julie not sing something depressing like Break Down Here or Men in Mascara. While that song is underappreciated now, I have no doubt that it will be on Engine 145′s Best of the 2010′s in 8 years.

I’m ineligible but thought I’d weigh in anyways. I’m with Leeann, I thought Julie’s last album Alive was strong. I loved the classic feel of “Yesterday’s Blue” and the thoughtful lyrics of “Carolina From My Soul” were extremely well done.

Roberts is new to me, but after getting the title track of “Who Needs Mistletoe” off of NoiseTrade, I’d have to say that that is my favorite song of hers (and not just because it is by default). I love it! Can’t wait to hear the rest of the EP.
