In fact on the Opry the audience did not want her to leave the stage as her performance was so superior to the typical Opry set. Her new album is not the kind of material I seek after these days, but I'm glad she's still in the game and continuing to create such high caliber music. I was hoping to see Kathy at the Opry this past Saturday night, and afterwards meet her as she was signing copies of the album, but it turned out I couldn't make it because I had a friend's wedding to go to that same night. Anyway, my preorder copy of the album just arrived, and I've finally gotten to listen to it. Absolutely stellar. I agree with all the accolades I've heard. A fantastic set of songs with gorgeous arrangements and spot-on vocal renderings. I know what you mean, Leeann. I love Kathy's current direction. The album is great, which is no surprise. Sadly, she was performing about 3 hours from us this summer, but we weren't able to attend the show. I know for sure that we missed a gem, since the last show of hers that we attended was one of our favorites and it wasn't even a full-length show. Fabulous interview.
