I’m not convinced Poison will do well, but I’m pretty confident it will be released as a single, since it was advertised on the packaging along with the two singles thus far, and the label’s track record for releasing the advertised songs as singles is something like 99%.

As always,among the pop country sound on radio it is reassuring to hear a familiar country voice, and his vocals are perfection – love is gonna make it alright! This is an excellent album, possibly the best so far from the master. I too would love to hear “Poison” as a single, but would today’s country radio really appreciate it…

Yet another great record from King George. Agree with Ben re: “Poison” but it might still see the light of day. :)

I definitely agree. It’s nothing that we wouldn’t expect from Strait, but it’s an enjoyable record that holds up well with repeated listenings. I would have preferred to see “Poison” or “A Showman’s Life” get a single release, but this will do for now. Nice review, as always, Blake.
