When I first saw the title and artwork for the new Chesney album, I got the feeling that he was letting us know right away that we are to expect no significant artistic leap on this album, nor anything that would convert non-fans.

Oh, I thought the new Kenny Cheesey album title was slated to be "Welcome to the Cesspool". Hmm...

It seems that Justin Moore's favorite word in that interview aptly describes the way I feel about his music, ie it's sh*t...

I saw The Atomic Duo perform at a Grand Ole Echo show and they are among the most blatant leftist libby-tards I've ever encountered! They should be doing a tour of "Occupy" encampments around the country to serenade kindred spirits. (lol) On the other hand the show was very entertaining and I hope they come back again! This time I'll be prepared in advance with some rotten eggs and tomatoes for when they start talking politics.

Kudos to Bonnie Raitt for recognizing her songwriting limitations and focusing on her strengths. I'd much rather hear a great song sung well that was composed by other writers than a mediocre self-penned number. Obviously most self-proclaimed singer-songwriters do not agree with this position.

By the way my Davy Jay Sparrow CD arrived it it was quite a letdown. Call me picky but I prefer vocalists and steel guitar playing that stay on pitch. I also tend to forget Texas based reviewers don't seem to mind singers that just don't sing very well. I rate the CD 3.5 Stars, 3 for the music (and cheesy production) and .5 star for trying to revitalize the sound of country music from the late 40's through the early 50's. Davy's heart is in the right place, but the execution is far from reaching critical mass to initiate a revival. Oh well...

"It’s true, the entire known universe of country music has been “blackballed’ except for those already inducted."

No, just the entire universe of country artists who came on the scene before 1970 and had even a handful of No. 1 hits, and/or were huge stars for a sustained period (and have not been inducted). Far as I know, that entire universe convenes in Kenny Rogers' shower every morning.

I gotta say ... I know who owns that pool now, and if the owner is running the "we get veto rights on Hall of Fame inductees" cabal then he is doing a piss-poor job of getting his own people chosen.

It's true, the entire known universe of country music has been "blackballed' except for those already inducted. There are secret committee meetings to make it so, held beside Webb Pierce's one-time guitar shaped swimming pool, now filled with the tears of the overlooked, the committee being made up of certified graduates of the Music Row Magnet School for the Promulgation of Paranoia.

The Kenny Rogers residency does seem about perfect. Not sure if he was snubbed or black balled, but I had picked him to make it in this year. And he will soon I'm sure.
