I'm so glad I finally got to read it! (lol) Shelly's "Ride" album rocked too hard for a female country artist at the time (and probably even now except for Miranda), and "You Don't Lie Here Any More" was an extreme example! I was really hoping "Tiny Town" would be a radio hit as it was more suitable, but alas AirHead Country Radio ignored that song as well. I saw Shelly in concert last year performing songs off this new album at LA's tiny and historic (by LA standards) MINT Club. I was so glad to finally see her perform live and chat with her afterwards, and get her to autograpgh my "Ride" CD. Stephony Smith was in the audience and even joined Shelly for a couple of songs on stage which was a pleasant surprise. Shelly puts on a high energy and entertaining show by any standard of measure. Although I do enjoy lisstening to "Ruby's Money", I much prefer "Ride" as it contains some great rockin' bluesy songs like "Down Into Muddy Water" and "I'm Going Back". These songs were a revelation coming from a major Nashville country label in the mid 2000's! Note: I highly recommend anyone who wants to pick up a CD hard copy of Shelly's "Ride" album look specifically for an "Advance" version rather than the commercial CD. "Ride" was one of those unfortunate Sony/BMG CD's encoded with the copy protection software that the label was sued for! The advance copies do not have copy protection and sound better too!
