Jon, thanks for the info as I'd never heard that song before Jeannie's version. Always appreciated.

Mike K said: "Only thing that came to mind for me was “Nickel in the Well” by Brian White. Whatever happened to that dude?"
Mike, if you've heard Bryan White on the Opry in the last few years, just like the old grey mare his voice ain't what it used to be. On the other hand its worth tracking down his top shelf version of "Rockin' Robin" off the Traveller film soundtrack. That one's a keeper for sure 'cause its like totally awesome dude. (Hey, I'm from LA...)

Rick, if I remember right, "Wishing Well Blues" was written by Marshall Wilborn, presently bass player and sometimes singer with Michael Cleveland & Flamkeeper. Rhonda Vincent recorded it on one of her solo albums for Rebel about 20 years ago - perhaps the same album on which she recorded "Timeless And True Love"....

I'd include Jeannie Kendall's gorgeous song "Wishing Well Blues" off her fantastic but over looked self-titled Rounder release back in 2003. Her duet with Alan Jackson on "Timeless and True Love" is just another of many reasons to track down that excellent album...

Bobby Bare sang "Bottomless Well" on Lullaby's, Legends, & Lies. Quirky song, but part of a great LP.

First one that came to mind when I read the subject line was "Dig A Little Deeper In The Well" by the Oak Ridge Boys.
