Hey, its nice to see the Roy's are appreciated somewhere! Crikey mate!

This Eric Church deal is so much ado about nothing. So some feathers got a bit ruffled. Sheesh.

What, Gaylord couldn't sue God so they settled on the Army Corp. of Engineers instead? They are wasting their time and money and will not get any financial relief. Hopefully they've learned their lesson so when it happens next time they won't suffer as much flood damage.

As much as I find the "Opry Legend" performers on the Friday and Saturday night Oprys boring and repetitive, they are a logistical necessity. Using a standard core group of older artists that are almost always available just makes sense, and since the audience is mostly tourists it works out fine. Unfortunately the radio shows have been reduced to the level of a bad Branson shows by these planning decisions, so I wind up listening to the newer artists featured and tuning out the Legends...

Kenny Roberts was a great performer and perhaps the greatest of the country yodelers (some would pick Elton Britt or Roy Rogers, but he certainly was up there with them)

Dierks Bentley said a similar thing a couple years ago about the reality shows. He basically said that while he doesnt blame anyone for going on the shows, get your break anyway you can, that he does think it has hurt some artists in the sense they dont get the chance to learn and grow as singers, writers and performers as much as you would by "coming up through the ranks". I think it was a very valid point and a good one, the reason it didnt create such a stir is because he put it tactfully and didnt smear anyone.

Eric, for as much as I like some of his songs, has shown tact isnt one of his strong suits. Not that I think he minds any of this, I think he likes having an image as a guy who "is an outsider in Nashville" and that has probably helped his career more than anything.

In the end it really doesnt matter, it's a bunch of whiny millionaires complaing amongst each about a genre none of them are really helping. Just keep cranking out generic songs about how hot the chick in your truck is that frat boys can crank up in their dad's truck. No wonder I dont listen to mainstream Country music...it's all one big joke.

"The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum should own the Opry, argues Saving Country Music’s Triggerman."

Not so fast! I hear The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum will face a bidding war for the Opry with the American Museum of Natural History--and it could get nasty.
