Its too bad that supposed first music video wasn’t the Big Bopper doing his original version of his composition “White Lightning”. George Jones did a bit better with that particular song on radio back in those days…

Kasey Chambers winning an Aria Award is about as unusual as Alison Krauss winning a Grammy award back during the 1990′s, and for the same reasons. Most ARIA voters look down their noses at Aussie country artists but Kasey’s breakthrough pop-rock cross-over album “Barricades and Brick Walls” broke down the barrier and they adopted her into the fold.

So, does anyone know the details of Jennifer Nettlesome’s pre-nup agreement? (lol)

The “first music video” claim for “Chantilly Lace” is patently goofy. By that firm’s own definition, lots of the many “Soundies” films back into the 1940s, played on film jukeboxes or included as shorts in theaters, would qualify–with sets, sometimes semi-plots, and a clear promotional intention to sell the record of the song filmed, as well as entertainment value in the film itself..Similar shorts go way back to the beginnings of sound film.
