Speaking about lines that don't fit, I really like The Trouble With Girls but not sure if "Nobody likes trouble as much as me" is the best or most fitting line to tie up the chorus. The rest of the song is 'sweet' and that line would fit more in a song in which the singer is a real womanizer - even in a fun way. A better line for that song would be something like "The trouble with girls is they'll always be a mystery". Or "The trouble with girls is no trouble at all for me". (Adjusting the melody to fit the different rhythm.)

I agree with Red Solo Cup - annyoing. I like Justin's song but don't like the lines about Hank and Janis - they don't fit in with the personal angle of the rest of the song. They just seem thrown in. When he's reflecting on his grandpa and close friends lost, he wouldn't be thinking about Hank and Janis. Those lines belong in another song called, say, Honky Tonk Heaven (which has been done). But Brad's Old Alabama song to me is great. I don't find anything wrong with it. Songs don't have to be taken that literally - is there a girl who would get in the mood listening to Alabama? Maybe. But that's too much analysis. It's just a great, catchy song. Having said that, I'm also a big fan of Alabama so I'd probably like the song regardless.

Alison Bonaguro's idiocy never ceases to amaze me.

"Like Brad Paisley's "Old Alabama." The magazine is criticizing it, among other reasons, because it paints an unrealistic picture of women who are in the mood for love after hearing Alabama's music. I know that's a far-fetched notion, but I'd rather have my music have more fantasy than reality."

That last sentence says it all right there.
