"I’m curious about what made the Mavericks come back together, since Raul Malo seemed to make it quite clear that their relationship was too damaged for reconciliation..."

Are you really surprised? My guess is that Malo saw that there's still a lot more demand for the Mavericks than for him as a solo act.

Heck, the way their solo careers are going, I'll lay 2:1 that within the next, oh, 2 years, we'll see a Brooks & Dunn reunion concert.

In that interview with Sunny Sweeney at CMT News Craig Shelburne wrote the following: "Although she parted ways with the Big Machine Label Group over the summer, Sweeney remains focused on a career in country music." Now wait a minute! Sunny is still on the Republic Nashville imprint website with her own page that is current and up to date. Also, if Sunny didn't have a label affiliation, I don't think she'd be planning her new album project. Yes Big Machine did move Sunny over to their Republic Nashville imprint a couple of years ago, but was she really dropped? I don't see any proof of that...

I think it's time Del McCoury started hosting Del Fests all over the country! His first franchise location should be somewhere near Los Angeles, and NO Ed Helms cannot buy himself a stage slot! (lol)

Taylor Swift a JUNO Award nominee? I'd didn't even know she was Canadian, eh! (lol)

Interesting articles from Jewly Hight and Chet Flippo.

I could've lived without reading the Flippo article though. I'm not sure it needed to be written, but maybe that's just my weak sensibilities speaking.

I'm curious about what made the Mavericks come back together, since Raul Malo seemed to make it quite clear that their relationship was too damaged for reconciliation in the interview that was posted at The9513 a few years ago. I'm looking forward to the new album and hope they stay together this time, though I've grown to really like Raul Malo's solo work.
