That's cool to see Corb Lund opening for Dierks and Miranda in Springfiled, MO in the spring. They should take Corb along on the entire tour as I'm sure he could use the money...(lol)

I truly hope the CMT "Next Women of Country" campaign actually has a major impact on Top 40 Airhead Country Radio! Yeah, when pigs fly anyway.

On last night's Music City Roots it was announced next week's live broadcast will stream from Tamworth, NSW Australia at 2 AM on Thursday morning January 24th! I don't expect many folks will watch that one live so it better make it into the archives. Crikey, mate!

That Nashville Scene "Best of 2012" country album list is about as well balanced as I've seen. I still don't give a crap about the vast majority of music they listed, but at least the list is well balanced.

Is there any way for Sarah Buxton to take part in that CMT CRossroads episode featuring Stevie Nicks? Hey, maybe she can fill in for newly pregnant Hillary Scott! Stevie was Sarah's inspiration to pursue music as a lifestyle and career. Hopefully Sarah will at least be in the audience for the taping.

Awesome stuff on Carrie Rodriguez, Shakey Graves and Brian T. Atkinson. I don't get the Eric Church-love, but I seem to be in the minority these days. ah well.

I commend CMT on their Next Women of Country campaign. I've always thought that their station viewed new artists too much like a consumable. This shows more "kid glove action" with a special group of artists. Radio and CMT has definitely been male-dominated as of late and the ten artists they've chosen are a really strong contingent of performers/songwriters.
