Rick, I am not an Obama voter, and neither are 99% of my family(my Uncle votes ONLY Democrat no matter what). We are Herring's from Mississippi. We do not appreciate what Pbama is doing to this country. I am considerate of others, but when they only hate me, I don't feel the need to apolagize, especially for everyone!

It appears many reviewers on this website simply do not like the South unless it is speaking of all its trouble. So someone gets a good review because they reference the trouble of the South but someone who sings of the positive things you call cliche's gets a bad review.

Is there some hidden political agenda working here?

Maybe Americana is your choice. It would fit politically for some. Great artists but leftists which is their right. But don;t let that color your commentary or reviews.

And yes, some of us who are not extremely welcome with comments here really do know G chord and it might surprise some that we may actually know music.

I loved her Lantana album, though I have to admit to being ignorant about the themes of more than one of the songs. I'm highly looking forward to her new album!

Juli said: " Her songs, which blend elements of classic country, folk, and bluegrass, have focused on topics such as poverty, racism, and infanticide..."

Caroline's lyric: “I’m just a white girl/From a segregated town/And I’m looking for some answers that I haven’t found.”

I think Caroline missed her true calling here and should have joined the Peace Corp.. Think of all the song inspiration she could have found in an impoverished African village. Sheesh. I can smell Obamavoter types from a mile away, and in this case from across the country. Well maybe the fact she is a herring may have something to do with that...(lol)

It's a good one--I'm really wild about "The Dozens" and her version of "See See Rider." IMO, it's between this one and One to the Heart, One to the Head for the year's best folk album.
