I’m really digging his playing on Darrell Scott’s latest, for instance.

I felt iffy about listing records I don't actually own. The Scott record has been on my to buy list for a while. Not that I doubt your assertion for a moment.

In even more recent Crouch news, he played on a new Jim Lauderdale country record cut in RCA Studio A back in May, along with James Burton, John Oates, Chad Cromwell, Kenny Vaughan, Al Perkins and John Jarvis.

Oh, great, give Dennis Crouch the big head. Besides, some of those "recent"s really aren't, while other, more genuinely recent stuff is missing. I'm really digging his playing on Darrell Scott's latest, for instance.

The new Krall record feature Dennis Crouch on bass, which is the internationally recognised signal for musical awesomeness. His presence on an album is a surefire sign it's going to be worth a purchase.

Some of his recent credits:
Gregg Allman - Low Country Blues
Buddy Miller - The Majestic Silver Strings
Johnny Cash - Ain't No Grave
Willie Nelson - Country Music
Elvis Costello - National Ransom
Alison Krauss / Robert Plant - Raising Sand
Patty Griffin - Downtown Church
Elton John / Leon Russell - The Union
John Fogerty - The Blue Ridge Rangers Ride Again

I love the idea of a "Top 15 Red Dirt Songs" list! I think it belongs right next to the "Texas Top 15 Biggest Cow Pies" list of GAC's "Top Country Mullets" in terms of cultural significance...(lol)

Hey, don't forget today is the release date for the Jason Heath and the Greedy Souls album "Packed For Exile".

So now Diana Krall is getting the T-Bonehead treatment as well eh? He should have invited Jack White to join in on the fun. Crikey.

Very sad news about Andy Griffith. He left behind quite a legacy. I always loved The Andy Griffith Show - watched it with my grandparents a lot.
