Scott Hendricks as Blake’s producer has really brought the quality of his work down. I’m not gonna blame it all on him, but the combination of Hendricks and Blake’s exploding popularity and his music has just fallen apart. Great vocal talent, but I can honestly list MAYBE 5 songs of his I have enjoyed since Pure BS. Even within those 5 songs, “Delilah” is the only one I can think off that instantly comes to mind.

This song is like air to me. I get nothing out of it at all – which unfortunately has become my routine reaction to each new Blake Shelton single.

Given that the first sentence is purely speculative – CMA award ballots aren’t annotated with reasons for voters’ choices – what value does the second sentence’s “proving” actually have?

Great review. What a waste of talent. Sometimes a strong vocalist can make you overlook less than great material. Awful material is another story.
