“Born To Fly” is a great song in its own right, but I especially enjoyed this version of it, which features Levi Dennis on the fiddle; Levi had left the Wildwood Valley Boys just a few weeks earlier for the Sara Evans gig.

Lots of good suggestions… my favorite Sara Evans song is probably “Bible Song” from Real Fine Place.

“Why Should I Care” and “I Learned That From You” off the Born To Fly album

I already have an autographed copy of this album, and thus can be considered out of the running for the giveaway, but I couldn’t resist joining in the discussion.

“Suds In the Bucket” was my favorite Sara Evans song for a good while, and it remains in the upper echolon, but I found myself developing more of a personal connection to “Born to Fly” as I entered my twenties, and found myself at the exact point in life that Evans so beautifully captures along with co-writers Marcus Hummon and Darrell Scott.

I’m also glad to see Occasional Hope’s shout-out for “Unopened,” a beautiful Leslie Satcher song that is one of my favorites from the stellar Three Chords and the Truth album. “No Place That Far” is a beautiful country love song that also ranks among my favorites, while “As If” and “A Real Fine Place to Start” are among my go-to happy singalong jams.

Suds in the Bucket … but love her ballads as well…

I’ll second “Suds In The Bucket” because it is so “country” as well as just being an excellent song.

Sara’s version pf “The Distance Between You and Me” on the Dwight Yoakam tribute album “Will Sing For Food” is also up near the top.
