McBride’s Hits and More was a decent compilation, but there were a lot of great songs that it passed over (from genuine hits like “Safe In the Arms of Love” and “Wrong Again” to should’ve-been hits like “Cheap Whiskey” and “Phones Are Ringin’ All Over Town”), so I think it will be nice to see her get a more thorough retrospective of her RCA years, though I haven’t seen the actual track listing yet.

If you’re going to get miffed over record labels putting out multiple compilations on an artist, then you’ll be in a perpetual state of “miffiness.”

They do that on just about every artist who’s still saleable: a one-disc comilation, a 2-disc “more extensive” compilation, a 3- or 4- disc “box”–and then they start the whole thing over. If it gives you something you want, buy it. If it doesn’t, don’t.

Didn’t RCA just put out a Hits and More compilation for Martina McBride? I would have assumed that was them finishing out her contract, so I’m surprised to find there’s another one on the way. And fans who bought that last compilation will be pretty miffed too.
