All I know about Hunter Hayes is that video on you-tube of him doing Jambalaya with a miniature accordion when he was 4 with Hank Jr. in front of a crowd. He was quite a musician even then. I’d bet he can play hard country or pop–or probably classical, for that matter, if he wants to.

Hunter’ Hayes is not Justin Bieber, he’s just young and apparently girls like him, heaven ferfend; live with it. He’ll get older. He’s also very capable on a good dozen instruments, has songwriting skill, and very adult polish and sense of responsibility. I think he’s going to prove to be a keeper.

Yeah, Church does shoot his mouth off and realistically he probably likes he wasnt nominated so he can play the Toby Keith type role of boasting how “disrespected” he is by Music Row and try to cultivate his “outlaw” image.

Kinda wondered that myself. Church is probably too politically incorrect. Not a personal fan of Bryan in any way, shape, or category. Of course, that is due to my own personal taste.

Didn’t they add a second Ryman show for Dwight?

Heard a snippet of Shooter and Patty. I’m pretty impressed. That is the song “Wild and Lonesome” I am referring to. It pleases me.

Not that I really care, but how does Luke Bryan get an entertainer of the year nod over Eric Church? Outside of wearing hipster tight jeans and dancing like a buffoon and releasing some awful singles what has Luke Bryan done for Country music exactly? I mean Church is kinda a d-bag, but at least I could play “Springsteen” to someone and not be embarrassed. How many Luke Bryan songs can say that? Plus they both seem pretty even in terms of record sales, radio airplay and live shows.

Music City Roots Alert! Tonight’s show will feature two very attractive women named Etta Britt and Bonnie Bishop! That’s good enough for me! (lol) The rest of the line up is Lee Harvey Osmond (Is that name in good taste?), Jerry Joseph, and Chicago Farmer(?). Peter Cooper is the guest host.

Not much in the above news round-up caught my attention except this: “Andrew Stafford profiled Carrie and the Cut Snakes, an Australian band with songs described as “the Pretenders on a Dolly trip.” I will definitely have to check that out! (lol)

It’s nice to read about Dwight Yoakam selling out the Ryman so quickly! This proves there are still fans of real country music living in Nashville besides Eddie Stubbs, not just all the tourists who take in an Opry show while they are there. Go Dwight!

So Shooter Jennings and Patty Griffin recorded a song together eh? From my perspective it should have been titled “Makin’ My Skin Crawl”! I’m starting to itch just thinking about it….
